At XMATE Sketch Lab, we frequently work with scans that are less than perfect. Recently, our team completed a detailed sketch of an apartment with a total area of 1,300 sq ft, created from a distorted Matterport scan.
About the Scan
The scan was not in the most critical condition — navigation inside was still possible, and most measurements could be taken accurately. However, certain elements were either unclear or missing. To ensure accuracy, our team supplemented the scan data with photographs, filling in the gaps where needed.
Our Approach
Extracted measurements from the usable parts of the Matterport scan
Verified unclear details using provided photographs
Delivered a clean, structured sketch suitable for claims, estimates, or reconstruction planning
Why It Matters
Even when a Matterport scan is distorted or incomplete, valuable data can still be recovered. By combining scan analysis with supporting material, XMATE Sketch Lab ensures clients receive reliable, claim-ready documentation without the need to start over.
